College Postgraduate Research Studentships

The University of Edinburgh College Postgraduate Research Scholarships are offered to academically outstanding candidates starting MPhil/PhD or MLitt programmes at the University of Edinburgh in 2010/2011.

The studentships will cover UK/EU tuition fees and a maintenance allowance broadly equivalent to those of the UK Research Councils and the British Academy. Research costs may also be paid.

Eligibility

The sole criterion for the studentships will be academic excellence; successful applicants are likely to be holders of a First Class or Upper Second Class Honours degrees from UK institutions or the overseas equivalent. Candidates who have progressed to obtain a Masters degree with distinction will also be considered.

All international students who apply for the studentships are also required to apply for a Scottish Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme (SORSAS) award or be able to demonstrate the availability of funds to meet the full overseas tuition fee.
