Funding Information for Prospective Postgraduate Students

Wolfson Microelectronics Scholarship for 2010-2011 Session



The University of Edinburgh will offer three scholarships in 2010-2011 to students who plan to undertake PhD degrees in the School of Informatics or the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. The value of each award will be £15,000 per academic year and is tenable for a maximum of three years. 

The scholarship may be terminated at any time when an unsatisfactory progress report is received from the School or if the scholarship holder ceases to be registered as a full-time student at the University of Edinburgh.


Eligibility

The scholarship is awarded to an MPhil/PhD student intending to study in the School of Informatics or the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. The sole criterion for the scholarships will be academic excellence; successful applicants are likely to hold or expect to achieve a UK first class Honours undergraduate degree or the overseas equivalent.

Completed application forms must be returned to the Scholarships and Student Finance Office no later than 1 April 2010.

Selection Procedure

The selection panel will meet in early May 2010 to select the scholarship holder. The winner of the scholarship will be announced in mid May 2010.
